General Questions

What areas do you cover?

We’re based in Northampton and serve clients across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and the wider Midlands. For board and train programmes, we accept dogs from anywhere in the UK.

What breeds do you work with?

We work with all breeds, sizes, and ages. From Chihuahuas to Great Danes, puppies to seniors – every dog can benefit from training.

Do you use punishment based methods?

No. We use positive, reward based training methods backed by behavioural science. We never use shock collars, prong collars, or physical punishment. Effective training doesn’t require force.

My dog has bitten before. Can you help?

Yes, we work with dogs who have bite histories. We’ll need a full behaviour consultation to understand the situation and create a safe, effective plan. Some cases may require referral to a veterinary behaviourist.

Board and Train Questions

How long are board and train programmes?

Most programmes run 2 to 4 weeks depending on your dog’s needs and goals. We’ll recommend the appropriate length during your assessment.

Where does my dog stay?

Your dog stays in our home, not a kennel. They sleep indoors, have access to secure outdoor space, and live as part of daily family life.

How many dogs do you have at once?

We limit numbers to ensure every dog gets individual attention. We never operate like a large boarding facility. Your dog won’t be one of dozens.

Can I visit during the programme?

We generally don’t recommend visits during training as they can disrupt progress. However, we send regular photo and video updates so you can see how your dog is doing.

What happens when my dog comes home?

You receive comprehensive handover sessions where we teach you everything your dog has learned. We also provide written notes and ongoing support to help you maintain the training.

What if my dog doesn’t improve?

We’re confident in our methods and set realistic expectations from the start. If your dog hasn’t made expected progress, we’ll discuss options which may include extended training at no additional cost.

Training Questions

How long until I see results?

It depends on the dog and the issues. Some dogs show improvement within days, while behaviour modification can take weeks or months. We’ll give you realistic timelines during your assessment.

Can you train my dog if I’m not home?

Yes – that’s exactly what board and train and walk and train services offer. Your dog gets trained while you carry on with your life.

Do I need to be involved in training?

For lasting results, yes. Even with board and train, you’ll need to learn how to maintain your dog’s training. We provide full handover and support.

My dog is reactive. Can they be trained?

Absolutely. Reactivity is one of the most common issues we work with. It’s very treatable with the right approach, though it requires consistency and time.

At what age can training start?

Training can start as soon as you bring your puppy home – typically from 8 weeks. For board and train, we usually recommend waiting until vaccinations are complete (around 12 to 16 weeks) unless special arrangements are made.

Pricing Questions

How much does dog training cost?

Pricing depends on the service and your dog’s needs. We discuss pricing during your free assessment once we understand what’s required. We’re transparent about costs – no hidden fees.

Do you offer payment plans?

We can discuss payment options for larger programmes. Ask during your assessment.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. The initial assessment is completely free with no obligation. It’s a chance for us to meet your dog and for you to decide if we’re the right fit.

Practical Questions

What should I bring for boarding?

Bring your dog’s regular food (or we can provide premium food), any medications, and a familiar item like a blanket. We provide everything else.

Do you collect and deliver?

Collection and delivery can be arranged for an additional fee, depending on distance.

What if my dog has medical needs?

We can accommodate dogs with medical needs in most cases. Let us know during booking and we’ll discuss requirements. Veterinary care costs, if needed, are your responsibility.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry full insurance for all training and boarding activities.
